Springfield Golf Club is located in central Rotorua, Devon Street West. Springfield is the only championship course in Rotorua. The course measures at 5639 meters from the blue tees (championship) and 4948 meters from the yellow tees (ladies). The men's club tees (white) play 5434 meters long. The course par 70 mens (72 ladies) might be short but it still offers a great challenge Springfield is known for its extremely tight fairways (one measuring only 8 meters wide) and its vast amount of trees.

Playing superb golf all day Peter Lee maintained his composure and shot the round of the tournament 65 to finish 8 under and the winner by 3 shots over Keiran Muir who also shot a superb 65 to finish the tournament as runner up.
Zoe Brake did not falter and scored a wonderful 68 to finish 6 under and 12 shots clear of Rebekah Brownlee and Chantelle Cassidy.

Peter Lee has maintained his lead of 4 shots and is 8 under after 13 holes; Keiran Muir and Sam An are both 4 under while Zoe Brake is still 5 under with a 6 shot lead over Chantelle Cassidy.
 
12.15pm
After 10 holes of the 3rd round 15 year old Peter Lee from the home club Springfield is 7 under and leads the tournament by 4 shots from Ben Taylor and Sam An, Jason Boobyer is 2 under and Cameron Jones and Kevin Budden are both 1 under for the tournament.
Zoe Brake at 5 under leads the ladies by 6 shots over Chantelle Cassidy.
 
The Danny Lee Open has attracted a full field of 96 players (85 men & 11 women). and there are 35 players under the age of 19, a good result.
 
Leading players after 2 rounds are: Jason Boobyer Matamata on 70, 67 137; Peter Lee Springfield 67, 70 137; Kevin Budden Waitemata 67, 71 138; Cameron Jones North Shore 69, 69 138; Ben Taylor Omokoroa 68, 70 138; Sam An Titirangi 68, 71 139; Matthew Mackey Poverty Bay 69, 70 139; & Landyn Edwards Rotorua & Keiran Muir Omokoroa both on 140. 
 
Zoe Brake Whakatane leads the ladies with 71, 71 142; Chantelle Cassidy Tokoroa 75, 70 145; and Rebekah Brownlee Gulf Harbour 74, 72 146.
